We don't do flowers...

What’s your go to gift when someone needs a pick me up? Or a get well soon? Or a congratulations? Flowers right? (Or probably wine if it’s for a man… though I don’t quite know why… men like flowers too of course). Flowers are a way of sending your thoughts, and quickly. You can call your local florist, and know that a bouquet of the most gorgeous blooms will be out, often on the same day. You can sit back and know that someone will know that you are thinking of them.

I love flowers. Last week, the house was full of them for my birthday. It was a real treat to have them in the hallway, the kitchen and the bedroom. In fact, I’ll probably have to wait another decade for that to happen again. Currently in my stock room, I’ve got two of the beautiful bouquets hanging upside down trying to dry them out, so that I can enjoy them for years to come… I’ll let you know how that goes. I wouldn’t bother with a £5 bunch of sunflowers from the supermarket, but these are worth trying to preserve.

Despite being called Harriet and Rose, we don’t send flowers. If you ask for our help sending a gift and want to add flowers to it, we’ll put you in touch with Clara at Wild Thymes. But, should you want to buck the trend and send something that will last, we can send that. And quickly. We can deliver same day, or next day, just like your local florist. We are all about convenience and ease, and all our stock is here, in the island, so we can get it out to you (or your recipient) quickly.

We also love a giveaway. And we love a quiz. And we love our island… so we’re combining our love of flowers with a giveaway…

Over the next month, keep an eye on our social media (Facebook and Instagram), as we’ll be leaving copies of ‘A Year in Flowers’ (RRP £21.99, and available on the website should you want to buy rather than hunt!) around the island for you to find. It’s finder’s keepers, but we’ll make sure we post some clues (and a photo of where we’ve left them!). It’s our way of spreading a bit of love, and getting out across our beautiful Island. Make sure you tag us if you find your treasure! There’s no rules at all, we just want you to think of us as soon as you think ‘hmmmm, I need to get a gift for…’. The last year has been brilliant, and gone far beyond our expectations. Thoughtful gifting in Jersey SHOULD be simple, and that’s what we’re here for!
