About us

About Harriet & Rose

Launched in 2019 by Harriet Rouse, Harriet & Rose is a Jersey based independent gift shop and gift delivery service. Founded in Jersey, for Jersey, we always knew that our focus was going to be bringing something a little bit different to the island we’re lucking enough to call home. In 2021 we opened our first premises at 71 King Street, St Helier.

Since throwing open our online doors in June 2019, Harriet & Rose has established itself as a business that supports other small businesses and as one of the islands best places to find something for the impossible-to-buy-for.

Offering a corporate gifting service alongside the online and physical shop, Harriet & Rose is here to take all the hassle out of finding an original present while living on an island where fog, customs and courier companies sometimes conspire to make it hard to buy something original… especially if you (and they’re not saying you do) leave it to the last minute. Need to send something to a loved one in Jersey and you live off island? We are always happy to help, and can deliver to any Jersey address. Please do feel free to give us a call on 01534 744 066 if you need any help at all.

We support small

By shopping in small quantities (with small creative businesses nearly all of which are independent too), Harriet & Rose guarantee our stock is always changing with weekly updates that ensure you'll always be able to find a new and original gift you've not given before. We are also happy to work with several local businesses sharing the small business love in island.

Meet the team

Harriet - Owner

Harriet moved to Jersey in 2016, having previously run and co-owned a leading bridal accessories business in the UK.

Spotting a gap in the market for an online boutique specialising in original and bespoke gifts delivering only in island, in 2018 she set about sourcing products and founded Harriet & Rose - a business founded in Jersey, for Jersey.

With her wealth of experience as a designer and maker alongside her business knowledge, she's passionate about bringing a different shopping experience to Jersey. With all the upside of the high street, along with a website that can be shopped from 24/7, Harriet (and now her team too) chooses every single item that is on the site and uploads them too, so that you have all the information that you need to shop confidently.

She cares about supporting small, creative businesses, and offering a curated product range that you can shop from the comfort of your home or desk as well as in person, taking away those last minute panic buys.

In 2020 she founded The Small Business Pop Up which ran for 12 weeks at Liberty Wharf bringing together small creative businesses and artisans under one roof in the post-lockdown restrictions that meant markets were called off for the year. It was after the success of this Pop-Up run that she started looking for longer term premises, and in June 2021 she opened the doors to the Harriet & Rose shop at 71 King Street, St Helier. The rest - as they say - is history.

Verity - Manager

Verity joined the Harriet & Rose team in early 2023 as a supervisor, and quickly became manger in July the same year. Solely responsible for all of our beautiful and seasonal window murals, her love of fungi (true story) has led to a huge increase in the presence of mushroom related stock. And we are here for it!

When she’s not at work she can be found out with Franklin (the dog) and Alex (the husband), or being creative.

Finn the dog

Finn is a year-old Lakeland Terrier/Poodle Cross otherwise known as a Lakeydoodle or Lakeypoo. We just call him Finn.

He can be found in the shop on some weekdays, and is the most popular member of the team by far. He’s happy to share the shop with other dogs, so please do always feel welcome to bring them along. We have water and treats available (strictly for the dogs, not their humans), but ask that you keep your dog on a lead. Lots of glass and ceramics, and Finn had to be retired from shelf stacking after a few too many breakages.
