Christmas Delivery and order deadlines....
It’s the 2nd December, and I am feeling a general sense of foreboding…
First off, I’ve not stocked up on rice, pasta, bread and longlife milk (lockdown life last time was very beige and carb heavy and with whispers of a circuit breaker on its way, I fear I may have to eat some vegetables); my red wine is running worrying low and I dare not even mention that we’re down to our last three loo rolls.
But these reasons are nothing to do with my feelings of foreboding! It’s that time of year where I generally walk around feeling like I’ve forgotten to do something. And then I remembered - I have. I’ve not talked about order deadline dates for Christmas delivery on Harriet and Rose. So here we go…
I - like you - want to keep as much of my shopping in the island this year. But I - like many other small businesses (be they candle makers, jewellers, potters or another small business) still rely on getting supplies in to the island. Whether it’s packaging, stock, components for making stock, or anything in between. In case you hadn’t noticed (and let’s assume that you have), the postal system worldwide is under just a little bit of pressure. Which means that items I’ve had on order (lids for my keep cups being my current ‘argh where are they’!) sometimes take a little longer to arrive too.
Harriet and Rose is all about last minute gifting, but, at this busy time of year, I’m doing my very best to manage my stock, to clear things as quickly as possible through customs, and to keep our Pop Up shop going… but our current delivery cut off is JUST a guideline - if we have to close to Christmas orders sooner so that we keep up the levels of customer service we want to, we will.
For now though, you can select ‘PRE-ORDER FOR CHRISTMAS DELIVERY’ at checkout - these orders will be packed and packaged up now, but we will deliver on MONDAY 21st and TUESDAY 22nd DECEMBER. We’ll be charging the Renault Zoe up and doing a magical mystery tour of the island - how many new roads will we go down?! We would strongly recommend you use this option if you’ve got something that you know you want to order as we cannot guarantee stock levels over the next few weeks.
Our last order date for accepting Christmas orders on the website will be FRIDAY 17TH DECEMBER for standard delivery (also me in the Renault Zoe), and for NEXT DAY DELIVERY SUNDAY 20th DECEMBER.
In short, we will not be accepting Christmas orders after midnight on the 20th December. This is to enable us to get them all packaged, delivered, a turkey bought, and all the mulled wine consumed.
A bit of a factual post, which I appreciate is a dull one. Oh, and yes, we do have more Elizabeth Scarlett pouches on the way. Hooray!
Thanks so much for all your custom and support in 2020. It’s been quite the year (and I’ve got my three busiest weeks to come!). More witty blog posts to follow when I’m through the next three weeks. Probably. Possibly it’s only me that ever finds my jokes witty.
