Something old, something new…

No we’re not talking weddings. Though, it is the season, and we do have a wish list that could well count as Jersey’s first (sort of) wedding list, as well as offering expiry-less gift vouchers that you can send both as an e-voucher and physical vouchers (that come in their own branded Harriet & Rose luxury gift bag making the voucher feel all the more fancy). No we’re talking old suppliers and new suppliers. The very heart of what Harriet & Rose is about.

See, we aren’t ever happy just to sit back and relax. We don’t take you, our wonderful customers, for granted, just as we love working with some of the stockists who took a chance on us back in 2019 when we founded, but we will always, always be out on the prowl for newness as well. The thing is, new businesses get launched all the time. Just as trends and fashions change, so do peoples’ lives and businesses. Some close, some grow, some spin out in an entirely new direction. We will never stop looking for new stockists to bring to Jersey, so that you, our customer never get bored with what we do. Also, we must confess… as a team, we’re rather fond of shopping.

We’ve taken to sending out a newsletter more regularly than we used to (candidly, we had never sent one before last month…) you can sign up by the way, just click on this link and scroll to the bottom of the homepage. In the writing of our newsletter, we have realised how lovely it is to celebrate our longest standing suppliers, as well as taking the opportunity to tell you about some of our newest arrivals.

So first up, something old.

The Right Lines

Lindsay at The Right Lines as a way with words. Always has. She’s an amazingly talented copywriter who has taken her way with words, and popped it into card form. Essentially, she writes everything you want to say, so you just have to put your name inside. Incredibly thoughtful, both the team and our customers have occasionally been known to well up on reading them. She’s that good. Our first card supplier when we launched our website, I don’t think a day passes without us selling one of her wonderful cards. Thanks for having us Lindsay.

Cards available in store, or email us shop@harrietandrose.co.uk if you’d like us to give you a hand to pick one

But what about the new. Well, we’re always looking for new. Whenever we aren’t in Jersey, we’re shopping. When we’re in Jersey we’re scouring our sources (and the internet) to check out the newest trends, the most exciting new businesses, and all the new developments in thoughtful gifting. It’s not a hardship. We’re all lucky enough to love our job.

One thing that we know everyone is short on is time. Though it’s a truth universally acknowledged that spending an hour doom scrolling on Instagram or Facebook goes alarmingly quickly, and is probably a portion of the day we could cut out. Or at least cut down on. Funny how the time doing something like a run stretches forever, whereas clicking on the ‘gram, an hour can pass quite quickly.

Cotton and Grey

Cotton and Grey founded during lockdown, and have quickly become one of the ‘thoughtful gifts’ that flies out in our shop. Twenty minutes of focused meditation on a beewax candle, with an array of messages, be it Mummy Time, Zen for Men, Remembrance Candles or Mindfulness Candles. They are the perfect thoughtful gift, and available in the shop for £10.95 each.
