Ah Covid. It is the gift that just keep on giving. Except it’s a rubbish gift that no one wants.

We don’t pretend to have all the answers. We don’t have them. We know what you do – that it’s not as bad in the summer, that younger people get fewer symptoms, and that even though we know a lot more about it, and how to treat it, we don’t have the answer yet.

All of which means that 2020 is set to be a very different Christmas. Currently, with no lockdown measures in Jersey, we’re all moving through life relatively normally. If normally means anxiously, with hands cracked from constant washing, an array of stylish and less stylish face masks in our bags and washing piles, and the hug and kiss being a thing of the past. Well, February 2020 anyway.

We made a decision about 4 weeks ago to get cracking with our own Christmas shopping. One of the biggest pitfalls of having our own gifting business is that expectations are high with the recipients. Especially the teens. Given that they’ve had an incredibly tough year emotionally (turns out that spending three months being home-schooled and effectively unable to see their friends has a big impact on mental health), we want Christmas this year to be good for them. Well, as good as Christmas without Grannie, Nanny and Grandad can be.

Here’s what we want to do to help you. We know that lots of people are unable to travel this Christmas, either through shielding or advice. And let’s be candid, the borders are effectively closed now with all the isolation and testing regime… but we also know that you want to give a thoughtful gift. And we know that popping to the post office is not necessarily as easy as it was (though in all honesty it was never that easy in the run up to Christmas).

But we are here to make things as easy as can be – and to help you plan ahead. So if you want to get your order in for Jersey delivery, whether you be in Jersey or further afield wanting to get ahead (totally understandable), then when it comes to check out, you can now delay delivery until the w/c 21st December. We allocate and pack your orders now, ready to go, but you know they’ll arrive with some seasonal greetings and cheer (and red and white twine!) on the 21st or 22nd December. Simple. Select standard delivery at check out, and we’ll do all the running round for you nearer the time.

Thoughtful gifting to loved ones has never felt more important, but it’s also never felt harder to achieve easily. We can do everything you’d do, but ensure that it’s delivered in island.
