Who are we again?
It may have been a Monday morning when we started writing this, but that fortuantely isn’t a question that we’re asking ourselves! Nine months after the launch of our website though, we thought we’d tell you again, a little bit more about who Harriet and Rose are, what we do, and what our plans are for the future (and of course, how that might involve you).
Who and what are we?
Harriet and Rose is Jersey’s only online gift shop, gift finder and gift reminder service. Whilst we’re almost all online, we do pop up throughout the year at events (on March 8th we’re at Common Ground for their Womens’ Day Market, an in June we’re at the Hospice Tennis event).
We’re a fan of a thoughtful gift. They don’t have to cost a lot, and we’d recommend that you pair them with a card (that is because we are big fans of a handwritten card). We wanted to bring lots of new ideas to Jersey, and a lot of our stock is exclusively available through Harriet and Rose in Jersey.
What’s a gift-finder service?
Know you’ve got to get something for a big birthday/christening/wedding/thank you/anniversary, and want to put in all the thought, but haven’t got all the time? Drop us an email and we’ll come up with some ideas for you. The longer we have the better, as we’ve got access to loads of amazing gifts that aren’t on the website through our brilliant suppliers, but, should you have left it until the last minute, we’ve got lots of stock ready to go for next day delivery and collection (and even same day if you’re really up against it).
What’s your gift reminder service?
It’s your free reminder for whichever dates you’d like to be, well reminded about! We’ll email you a month before your date(s) and you can get in touch and let us know your budget and ideas and we’ll do the shopping for you. And if you don’t shop through us, then you get your reminder for absolutely nothing.
Where are you based?
Well all our stock is online. But we do have an office in town on Hill Street, so you can collect from us Monday-Thursday if you’re in town. Otherwise we deliver Island wide for a small charge.
Why shop with Harriet and Rose?
First off, because it’s easy and the shop can take orders 24/7. So if you’ve left things late, or your forgot to pick up a card or gift after work, you can sit in the comfort of your home, and shop when it suits you.
Secondly, we have really, really, really thought about the stock that we carry. We are passionate about supporting small creative businesses, and we’ve got some innovative, thoughtful gifts on our site that you can’t find anywhere else in Jersey.
As a company we are committed to using as little plastic as possible (all our labels are fully recyclable, our cards are sent out without plastic wrappers, and we stock products from companies that share our values), and this continues through to all our stock.
What makes you different?
Well lots of things! Sure, there are hundreds of online shops, but they aren’t all created equal. Moreover, there are hardly any that only deliver in Jersey. Fed up with filling up your online basket, going to checkout only to find it’s either £8,000,000 for delivery (not a true story), or that all of a sudden they can’t get it here to you? Well now we do that to shoppers in the UK! (Actual true story). We decided that we would only deliver in Jersey (and we can also deliver to Guernsey), because that way you know you’ve come first. We’ve got some great gifts that are especially suitable for island life - from tide clocks, to hammam beach towels, and that’s because we’re created in Jersey, for Jersey.
